Junior
Dos Santos (6’3” 237) vs. Gilbert Yvel (6’2” 239)
Heavyweight
Referee: Herb Dean

Junior
signaled to Gilbert that he was going down before Herb Dean had a chance
to kick off the bout.
Both men dodged intense air bombs.
4.22:
Gilbert trialed a spinning back kick.
4.17: They
briefly clashed with more H-bombs.
4.05:
Junior fired off a right cross.
4.01: He
blasted Gilbert with a combo; Gilbert retaliated and Junior danced away.
The firepower here would have rivaled the USS Missouri.
3.30:
Dos Santos leg-kicked and Yvel answered with a left hook. These
were big men unloading big guns.
3.20:
Yvel body-kicked.
3.08: Dos
Santos took a high kick on the mitts.
3.02: They
faced off and Dos Santos tagged Yvel with a left hook that sent the
Dutchman flying. Dos Santos sealed if with g’n’p.
These two freight trains sent sparks flying and provided an amazing
opening to UFC 108.
Result:

Jim
Miller (5’8” 155) vs. Duane Ludwig (5’10” 156)
Lightweight

Jim
was in southpaw and Duane in orthodox as he unloaded a right hand.
4.42:
They swapped fists and Jim snuck in a leg kick.
4.16: Jim
dispatched a volley of fists punctuated by a high kick.
4.11:
He inside-kicked.
4.05:
Duane replied with his own fist combo and a high kick.
This was a heated exchange, with both men unleashing volatile combos.
3.06: Miller
dropped Ludwig with a right hook and jumped into mount position; Ludwig
rolled, but Miller whacked on an arm bar.
Result:
Jim Miller by arm bar – 2.07, Round One.
Col
Miller (6’1” 155) vs. Dan Lauzon (5’10” 155)
Lightweight
Referee: Steve Mazzagatti

They
sparred until 4.36 before clinching.
4.34:
They separated with both men wanting to bang it out. Cole came
after Dan, hooks blazing and kicking to the body.
4.19: Southpaw
Dan flattened Cole via a left hook. They sprang back up with Cole
still under fire from Dan.
3.59:
Miller launched knees and knuckles. Neither man backed down as the
pair traded with blows across the Octagon.
2.41: Lauzon
took Miller’s back and they tumbled to the floor; they scrambled and
Miller wrapped on the kimura and reverse triangle.
Result:
Col Miller by kimura and reverse triangle – 3.05, Round One.
Sam
Stout (5’9” 155) vs. Joe Lauzon (5’10” 155)
Lightweight
Referee: Steve Mazzagatti

One
Both fighters were in
orthodox as Joe shot in at 4.50. They clinched and Joe executed the
takedown.
4.34:
He was in half guard.
4.03: Joe
worked a kimura and Sam tumbleweeded out of the submission before
standing. They eyed off, with Sam’s left one covered in claret.
3.12:
Lauzon shot at Stout’s legs; Stout fought off the attack but Lauzon
eventually took him down.
2.50: They
were back up and clinched.
2.43: They
broke free.
2.38:
Joe went for another tackle, making it clear he wanted a ground battle;
however this time Sam sprawled and fell into Joe’s guard, then dumped
elbows and punches on his opponent.
1.46:
Sam stood and ordered Joe up. He outgunned Joe in the toe-to-toe,
causing Lauzon to shoot. Sam sprawled, so Joe to shot again but to
no avail. Stout continued to pick Joe off with body punches,
uppercuts and hooks as Shawn Tompkins called for Stout to deliver more
liver shots.

Two
4.49:
Lauzon went for the tackle; however Stout anticipated the attack and
shrugged him off.
4.40:
Lauzon front-kicked, but Stout punished him by ripping another left hook
into Lauzon’s liver. Sam targeted Joe with a leg kick then a head kick
that wobbled Joe, who responded with a tackle.
3.57: Sam
fought from his back before climbing to his feet at 3.30. His left
eye was bloody and Joe’s right midsection glowed red as they fought
toe-to-toe.
1.38:
Sam worked Joe’s body, causing him to shoot.
1.10:
Sam was standing and called Joe up.
0.41:
Lauzon took Stout back down after being dominated in the standup.
The round ended with Stout g’n’p-ing from Lauzon’s guard.
Round
Three
Joe tried to mix it up with
Sam in the toe-to-toe, but Sam’s strikes were outgunning his game
opponent, and he refused to be taken down.
Sam danced around him whilst focusing on Joe’s liver with fists and
kicks.
2.02: Joe
caught a kick and took Sam to the mats, then attacked from guard.
1.30:
Lauzon got the mount; however Stout rolled and scrambled to his feet and
hammered up to the bell.
Result:
Sam Stout by unanimous decision.
Martin
Kampmann (6’0” 171) vs. Jacob Volkmann (5’9” 171)
Welterweight
Referee: Yves Lavigne

Southpaw
Jacob tentatively edged towards Martin.
4.20:
They dusted each other up with a leather exchange.
4.12:
Jacob wanted to clinch but Martin shoved him away.
3.55:
Jacob pressed forward and tagged Martin with a volley of knuckles;
Martin fired back, knocking Jacob down with a right hook. Jacob
bounced up and fists flew.
2.43:
Volkmann rushed in, dispatching punches, but Kampmann absorbed the blows
and sent Volkmann to the floor with a right hook and pounded from his
guard.
1.04: Kampmann
sunk in a guillotine. Volkmann tapped.
Result:
Martin Kampmann by guillotine – 4.03, Round One.
Mark
Munoz (6’0” 185) vs. Ryan Jensen (6’1” 185)
Middleweight
Referee: Mario Yamasaki

Mark
took center ring as Ryan circled.
4.45: Mark
backed away from a high kick.
4.41:
Ryan inside-kicked.
4.31:
He leg-kicked, then inside-kicked. He was parrying Mark’s
punches, then kneed to the body; however Mark latched onto the knee and
pulled Ryan down as he went for a guillotine.
4.00:
Mark’s head popped out of the choke before he took Ryan’s back.
3.40:
They stood and clinched.
3.15:
Mark swept Ryan from the clinch and g’n’ped him into submission.
Result:
Mark Munoz by tapout (strikes) – 2.30, Round One.
Paul
Daley (5’9” 172) vs. Dustin Hazelett (6’1” 168)
Welterweight
Referee: Herb Dean

4.55:
Dustin backs up to measure the distance for a somersault attack,
immediately trying to take Paul down, and Paul sidesteps out of harm’s
way.
4.40: Paul
begins moving from side to side like a poised fierce snake waiting to
strike.
4.22: Daley
closes in, but is fended off by Hazelett’s front kick.
4.15:
Daley blocks a high kick.
4.08:
He leg-kicks.
3.58:
Hazelett keeps his left leg at the ready like a jab to keep Daley at
bay. Paul targets the leg with kicks, then switches to a high
kick.
3.45:
Paul leg-kicks.
3.35:
He throws a right and a left hand and follows up with a leg kick.
3.12:
Paul blocks a high kick.
3.08:
Dustin front-kicks to the body.
2.49:
And again.
2.47:
Dustin blocks a high kick.
2.44:
Paul leg-kicks.
2.41:
Hazelett throws a right as Daley counters with an overhand right.
Their arms lock up as Daley detonates a left “Semtex” hook.
It’s over that quickly!

bobs and weaves, throws a few punches, then clinches straight away.
4.24: Thiago Thai clinches and Rashad
notches up a double-keg takedown.
4.19: Thiago stands, but Rashad hoists
him up and dumps him on the mats before taking side control.
3.48: Rashad gets the mount; Thiago
rolls and they stand.
3.27: Evans forces Silva’s back into
the fence after copping a knee to the body.
2.53: They’re free and swinging.
2.38: Silva knees, Evans gathers it up
and takes Silva down before moving into side control.
2.11: They scramble to their feet.
1.44: Silva inside kicks as Evans
counters with knuckles.
1.07: Evans throws a combo before
clinching.
0.32: They separate.
0.28: Evans scores another takedown.
0.18: Silva claws his way back up.
Round
Two
4.47:
Rashad rushes Thiago with blazing mitts before they tie up.
3.57: They part.
3.47: Rashad catches Thiago’s kick,
takes him down, then works from half guard.
3.19: They’re up.
3.14: Rashad picks Thiago up and
drives him into the canvas.
2.39: They’re standing. Thiago
is slow on his feet while Rashad remains explosive.
1.59: Evans looks for a takedown,
Silva resists and they clinch. Evans tries to sweep Silva but cops a
right fist instead.
0.48: Evans pulls off another
takedown.
0.24: Silva works his way up whilst
still in the clinch.

Three
4.40:
Thiago resists the takedown before they lock up.
4.18: They part.
4.06: Thiago jabs.
3.59: Rashad tackles him to the floor.
3.53: They’re standing, clinched.
3.48: They break free.
3.00: Thiago keeps calling for Rashad
to stand and bang with him, but for the last two rounds it’s been all
Rashad.
2.42: Evans lands a right and Silva
postures with his hands by his sides, tempting Evans to take his best
shot.
2.08: Silva rattles Evans with a left
and a right. He follows up and Evans goes down, then clinches and
they stand. Silva looks to be out of gas and can’t capitalize.
Result:
Rashad Evans by unanimous decision.
