Fedor
Emelianenko (6’0” 232) vs. Brett Rogers (6’4” 264)
Heavyweight
Referee: Big John McCarthy

Round
One
Big John McCarthy calls
them to the center, Fedor performs his traditional stare down by staring
down, and Brett looks on. They return to their corners before all
hell breaks loose.
Big John barks out, “Let’s get it on” and they close in, with
Fedor taking center ring.
4.38: Brett throws a jab and Fedor hurls a ballistic right and a left
loop – Brett’s jab is accurate and cuts the bridge of Fedor’s
nose.
4.08: Fedor moves in with a left and a right hand, then flings Brett to
the canvas.
4.00: Brett muscles his way back up and has Fedor clinched against the
cage. He knees Fedor’s thighs and Fedor throws short hooks at
Brett’s head. Big John cautions Brett for holding the fence.
3.02: Rogers has double underhooks in place and Emelianenko is breathing
through his mouth, but his facial expression hasn’t changed since he
entered the arena. He could be on the Stairway to Heaven or the
Highway to Hell and nobody would know from his unshakeable poise and
composure.
2.55: Emelianenko goes for a sweep and forces Rogers to release his body
lock.
2.40: Fedor unleashes a right, left, right, left combo. The first
left hand is a sledgehammer that stuns Brett. Fedor keeps coming
and effortlessly takes Brett down with a single-leg, then targets Brett
with short, sharp left hooks from half guard.

1.49: Brett rolls; however Fedor goes for a kimura on Brett’s left
arm.
1.41: Rogers is in Emelianenko’s guard, with both arms now free.
He starts g’n’p-ing, but Emelianenko goes for an arm-bar submission,
as he did against the much larger Hong Man Choi (7’2” 350).
They scramble.
1.21: Emelianenko stands and rains down punches on Rogers.
1.16: Emelianenko is in half guard.

0.16: Fedor dives in with a right hand that Brett dodges before pulling
Fedor into guard.

Round

huge ballistic left hook that is way off target, but is probably a decoy
for his upcoming precision shot.

clinch.

came off the ropes against Andrei Arlovski.

and Kos Brett.
Result:
Fedor Emelianenko by KO – 1.48, Round Two.
