Middleweight

4.40: Tim leg-kicked before shooting
in; Melvin sprawled and escaped the takedown.
3.53: Melvin blocked Tim’s front kick.
3.45: Melvin resisted another takedown
attempt.
3.22: Kennedy leg-kicked; Manhoef
caught the kick and retaliated with right fists.
3.05: Manhoef buckled Kennedy with a
vicious leg kick.
2.56: Manhoef repeated the kick.
2.47: Kennedy shot in, they tied up,
and Kennedy got the takedown at 2.30, before grabbing side control.
2.15: Tim had the mount, then latched
onto Melvin’s back and unloaded g’n’p.
1.28: Tim sunk in the rear naked choke
forcing Melvin to tap.
Result: Tim Kennedy by RNC – 3.41, Round One.

Marloes Coenen (5’8”, 135 lbs) vs. Liz Carmouche (5’4”, 134 lbs)
Women’s Welterweight Title
Referee: Greg Franklin
Round One
4.53: Liz leg-kicked as Marloes poked
out jabs.
4.38: Marloes leg-kicked.
4.34: Liz inside-kicked.
4.32: Liz leg-kicked as Marloes
countered with a right cross.
4.11: Marloes inside-kicked and worked
her jabs whilst Liz bobbed and weaved, looking to find her rhythm and
range.
3.20: Marloes leg-kicked.
3.15: Carmouche avoided a high kick.
2.52: She leg-kicked and proved to be
an elusive target for Coenen. They continued to trade blows, with
Carmouche landing a big overhand right before clinching
at 2.26.
1.05: The ref separated them.
0.56: Coenen delivered inside kicks
and closed the round well with more kicks.
Round Two
They came out banging, with Liz looking more aggressive.
4.28: The pair clinched and exchanged
knees and foot stomps from the tie-up.
4.02: Liz copped a knee to the
midsection before attempting a double-leg takedown. Marloes resisted and
went for a guillotine choke.
3.33: They collapsed to the floor and
Liz’s head popped free as she fought from Marloes’s closed guard.
3.25: Carmouche commenced slamming
knees into Coenen’s butt from the guard.
2.42: Carmouche stood and warded off
Coenen’s arm bar attempt, then dropped fists on the downed champion before
falling back into Coenen’s guard.
2.10: Liz delivered knees to Marloes’s
right shoulder from the north/south position. Liz totally dominated play.
1.27: She took side control.
1.05: Liz grabbed the mount after
scrambling, then g’n’ped up to the bell. Unfortunately, her ground and
pound lacked crushing power and allowed Marloes to survive the round.
Round Three
The pair sparred until Carmouche latched on at 4.45 when they fought
close-quarter style against the cage.
3.53: Coenen caught Carmouche with a
snapping right elbow.
2.38: Carmouche notched up the
takedown and snared side control.
2.22: She mounted Coenen; however her
g’n’p lacked destructive power again and Coenen survived another round
that belonged to Carmouche.
Round Four
4.53: They clinched and fell to the
mats with Marloes in Liz’s guard.
4.15: They stood in the clinch.
4.03: Liz got the takedown.
3.45: Marloes had Liz’s left arm
secured and slapped on a triangle. The submission was deep and Liz
tapped.

If Carmouche returns with loaded g’n’p she’ll be very hard to stop.
Result: Marloes Coenen by triangle choke – 1.29, Round Four.

Dan Henderson (5’11”, 249 lbs) vs. Rafael Feijao (6’0”, 204 lbs)
Light Heavyweight Title
Referee: Dan Miragliotta
The crowd roars as Hendo is introduced and his right upper lip rises,
giving his fans that familiar Popeye smile. How can you not love the
guy! Rafael receives a more subdued response from the US audience, and
the action is underway.
Round One
4.36: Rafael leg-kicks.
3.48: Dan dispatches leather, looking
to pulverize Rafael with a big trademark right.
3.42: But Rafael causes an upset when
he pumps out an overhand right of his own and levels Dan; Henderson
momentarily climbs back up and takes Feijao down. Hendo wards off a
meltdown from Feijao’s guard.
2.00: The ref stands them up.
1.36: Dan has recovered and fires off
fists, causing Rafael to clinch.
0.17: The ref separates them.
Round Two
4.49: Henderson leg-kicks.
4.38: He peppers Feijao with powerful
punches to the head and body.
4.22: Feijao doesn’t like the exchange
and opts for a takedown; however Henderson repels the tackle and they tie
up.
3.17: Dan takes Rafael to the canvas
and assumes half guard.
2.43: They scramble before Rafael
moves into full guard.
1.46: The ref restarts play and Dan
dominates the toe-to-toe.
0.38: He chalks up another takedown
and grabs half guard before targeting Rafael’s right thigh with vicious
elbows.

Round Three
4.44: Feijao blasts Henderson’s lead
leg with a kick.
4.37: They trade and clinch.
4.30: They separate.
4.19: Henderson inside-kicks.
4.16: He unleashes a right and Feijao
hits the deck. Henderson straddles his back and dumps g’n’p on Feijao
before the ref calls off the dogs.
Result: Dan Henderson by KO – 0.50, Round Three.
