TIGER
WOODS: How I Play Golf with
the Editors of Golf Digest (Warner Books)
©
Marc Wickert Obviously this is not
an MMA book being reviewed, but I’m sick to death of the parasites in
the media making a buck from rubbishing Tiger Woods. What they could be
filling their newspapers and air time with is that, in 2009, the
world’s greatest golfer was voted: PGA Tour Player of the
Year by his peers for the 10th time, Athlete of the Decade
by The Associated Press, Player of the Year for
the 10th time by Golf Writers Association of America, and, after major knee
surgery, closed the decade with six victories on tour in 2009. The media could also
be focusing their attention on the incredible charity work Woods is
involved in to assist children, provide education opportunities, help
the environment… through Tiger Woods Foundation, Tiger Woods Learning
Foundation, Rainforest Foundation Fund… Since the media’s assault on Tiger’s private life – something that these editors and reporters seem to be entitled to – major sponsors have withdrawn their support for the world’s greatest golfer. I wonder how much profit the media organizations have made from trashing Woods, how much of that profit has gone to charities, and how much the beneficiaries of Tiger’s funds have lost. Tiger Woods is not a
family counselor: He is an amazing golfer and sportsman. His
private life should be between his family and himself.
UPDATE I can’t believe the
latest garbage being written in the press. A couple of days ago,
gutless worms were grabbing headlines by saying where they thought Tiger
Woods was temporarily staying, and running after him like eunuchs trying
to score some cheap scoop. The various articles quoted “unnamed
sources” for the basis of their information. Again, the authors
of these articles didn’t supply moral backgrounds into their lives or
give their own addresses for the rock they crawled out from under, but
they feel they’re entitled to persecute Woods and jeopardize his
privacy. What spineless maggots! Can’t wait to see Tiger Woods
return to the golf course.
THE
BOOK The beauty of this
modern age for anybody into anything is that there are instructional
books and DVDs by the best practitioners in the world in every field
imaginable – golf, mixed martial arts, tennis… even books on how to
grow handlebar mustaches. The thing is, no
matter where you live on the planet, you can hop online and order a book
or DVD, then start receiving tuition from the greatest exponent in any
chosen sport or interest.
TIGER

As
with the best of the best in all sports – Fedor Emelianenko in MMA,
Roger Federer in tennis, or Tiger Woods in golf – there is more to the
player’s winning ways than meets the eye. All elite champions
have great mental powers. And as mentioned above, TIGER
WOODS: How I Play Golf also contains the chapter, How
to Master the Mind, which covers some very interesting aspects of
Tiger’s mental approach to the game.
This
is an outstanding publication for any professional or would-be golfer. For
